Bengt has a lovely faded patina and is a more brownish shade of the traditional ‘Falu’ red. His markings are much less stark than on a newer steed.
He also sports a small protrusion on his underside…. It’s not some weird attempt by the carver to add a more ‘realistic’ element of a horse’s ‘physique’. God forbid! Such things are never found on a Dala horse.
Anyway…. He’s still got his G A Olsson workshop sticker from the 1950s or 60s and he stands 15.5cm tall from hoof to ear tip.
